Parks Photo Archive negatives, 1934-1966.

Negatives, ranging in size from 2 1/4 to 8x10, show park roadways and structures, swimming pools, beaches, golf courses, running tracks, ball fields, bridges, playgrounds, and other areas in New York City's parks, particularly Central Park in Manhattan, and Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx. Views of opening ceremonies and other official functions, street scenes, and other views showing people in the parks are also included. Construction and repair work in the parks and park roadways that took place with W.P.A. funding under Parks Commissioner Robert Moses is well documented. Photographers represented are Alajos Schuszler, Max Ulrich, Eric Baker, Rodney McCay Morgan, Savastano, Richard Averill Smith, and Richard Guthridge, and aerial photography firms including McLaughlin Air Service, Fairchild Aerial Views, Skyviews, W.O. Davies, and Flying Camera, Inc.
